Marjukka Tepponen

Marjukka Tepponen began her musical education as pianist at the age of five.
She had vocal studies from 2000 at the Conservatory in Kuopio and from 2003 at the University of applied Sciences in Jyväskylä. Marjukka Tepponen has studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki with Marjut Hannula and in Vienna with Hilde Zadek. Marjukka Tepponen was awarded the 2. prize at the National Lied Competition in Kokkola in 2007, in 2008 she was winner of Timo Mustakallio Competition in Savonlinna. 2009 she was a semifinalist at International Mirjam Helin Competition in Helsinki and in January 2010 she won the first prize in the National Lappeenranta Singing Competition. Ms.Tepponen has been singing as a soloist with several finnish orchestras as well as Frasquita/Carmen and Zerlina/Don Giovanni at the Finnish National Opera and as Violetta/La Traviata at the Jyväskylä Opera. During the season 2010-2011 Ms.Tepponen made quite a remarkable successful debut as Mimi/La Boheme in Graz and she performed again at the Finnish National Opera as Julietta/Die Tote Stadt and as Lauretta/Gianni Schicchi. At the Tampere Opera she sang as Pamina/Die Zauberflöte. In the summer 2011 Marjukka Tepponen made an appearance as Zerlina in the new production of Don Giovanni at the Savonlinna Opera Festival. |
