Finnish Bass-baritone Rolf Broman studied in Helsinki at the Sibelius-Academy with Jaakko Ryhänen. Mr. Broman has also worked with Esa Ruuttunen, Roland Hermann, Sir Donald McIntyre and KS Franz Grundheber.
Since August 2007 Rolf Broman has been a member of the Young Ensemble at Deutsche Oper am Rhein, where he performs in productions of Die Frau ohne Schatten (cover), Lady Macbeth of Msensk, From the House of the Dead, Eugene Onegin, Katja Kabanowa, and Un ballo in maschera, among others.
In Finland Rolf Broman has taken part in several opera productions including Schaunard in Puccini’s La Bohème (Lahti Opera), Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Turku Philharmonic Orchestra), the title-roles in two finnish operas at the Vaasa Opera and numerous roles at the Opera Studio of the Sibelius Academy.
His concert appearances have included the bass-solo in Bach’s St. John Passion with the Lahti Symphony Orchestra, as well as the part of Jesus with the Kokkola Chamber Orchestra and the bass-solo in Mozart’s Requiem.
