Kristian Lindroos, baritone

Baritone Kristian Lindroos was born in 1990 in Helsinki. He has studied in the vocal department of Sibelius Academy and is finishing his Masters degree in the spring 2017. His teachers in Sibelius Academy were Petri Lindroos (father), Timo Honkonen and Erkki Rajamäki. Kristian has also studied privately with M° Sherman Lowe in Venice.
Kristian has completed the ’Accademia del bel canto ”Rodolfo Celletti”’ -summer program in Martina Franca, Italy.
Kristian comes from a family of singers: his father is bass Petri Lindroos and his grandfather the famous tenor Peter Lindroos.

Kristian Lindroos made his debut at the Opera di Firenze as ’Young Henrik’ in Marco Tutinos’ opera ’Le Braci’ 2015. Kristian  also performed at the Festival della valle d’Itria -opera festival in Martina Franca and Teatro Nuovo in Milano. He has performed opera roles include ’Belcore’ from ’L’elisir d’amore’, ’Schaunard’ from ’La Bohéme’, ’Falke’ from ’Die Fledermaus’, ’Mercurio’ from ’Incoronazione di Poppea’ and ’Time’ from De Literes’ opera ’Los Elementos’ as well as the bass role in Händels’ ’Messiah’ with the Sinfonia Lahti -orchestra. Kristian has performed on many prestigious stages in Finland with both Lied- and opera repertoire.

Kristian Lindroos won the first prize at the Lappeenranta singing competition 2016. He has also won a special prize at the ’Toti dal Monte’ -international singing competition, Treviso, Italy 2015.
